CUPE 1767, BC Assessment reach tentative agreement

CUPE 1767, BC Assessment reach tentative agreement

CUPE 1767 and BC Assessment have reached a tentative agreement for a new three-year contract, which will run retroactively from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2024.

The tentative agreement covers approximately 600 members of CUPE 1767 who work as appraisers, assessment administrators and property information collectors, as well as in communications, finance, information technology and data services in 14 locations around the province, including head office in Victoria.

Bargaining, which began in mid-February, took place over 11 weeks at the negotiating table. Agreement details will be available in the coming weeks when the ratification process for Local 1767 members and the employer is complete.

“After a long and arduous process, we are pleased to have been able to reach a fair and equitable agreement that recognizes our members’ contributions and respects their work,” said CUPE 1767 President Tina Dhami.

“This agreement meets our members’ needs while recognizing the challenges that all public sector workers are facing throughout B.C.”
