ABBOTSFORD—A free community barbeque featuring a bouncy castle, an entertainer, and activities for kids and families will be part of a community celebration being held on Saturday (April 22) to pay tribute to Fraser Valley transit workers who’ve been on picket lines for more than a month. All members of the public are invited to attend.
The event is sponsored by the Fraser Valley District CUPE Council, which represents CUPE members and locals from across the region. The purpose is to show support for striking CUPE 561 members, who live and work in the Fraser Valley and rely on the same transit system as their neighbours who have been inconvenienced by the job action.
