Libraries

CUPE represents more than 3,500 library workers delivering a crucial public service in communities across B.C. Library workers, including librarians, clerks, archive technicians, and other program staff, provide neighbourhood hubs residents depend on for access to information, literature, and activities.

Whether its families with young children participating in story times, students researching and studying, people looking for the next novel to share with their book club, or seniors looking for a quiet place to catch up on news and events, library workers give their guidance and expertise while maintaining safe and inclusive public spaces. CUPE library workers support our public libraries as vital democratic institutions that promote arts, culture and literacy for all.
