Hancock and Faoro re-elected President, Secretary-Treasurer

New executive board elected at 52nd annual CUPE BC Convention

VANCOUVER—Delegates to CUPE BC’s 2015 Convention in Vancouver today re-elected President Mark Hancock and Secretary-Treasurer Paul Faoro, as well as a new Executive Board.

“I want to thank first and foremost the members of Local 498, Port Coquitlam Municipal Workers, my home local, for their support,” said Hancock. “I also want to thank CUPE members throughout BC, and delegates to Convention for their support. I’m humbled by the trust CUPE members across the province placed in me, and I will continue to work as hard as I can to advance the interests of all our members.

“I also want to congratulate Paul Faoro on his election as Secretary-Treasurer, and to all the members of our new Executive Board. And to all the outgoing members of the Executive Board, on behalf of all 85,000 members of CUPE BC, thank you for your service.”

“Thanks to my Local, CUPE Local 15, for their support, and I will put every ounce of my energy into this job,” said Faoro. “We’ve made great strides together over the past two years and I know we’ll continue to make our union even stronger.”

Delegates also elected four general vice presidents, six regional vice presidents and alternates, two diversity vice presidents and alternates, and one three-year trustee.
