VANCOUVER – CUPE 1004 has reached a tentative collective agreement with the City of Vancouver and the Board of Parks and Recreation. The CUPE 1004 bargaining committee is unanimously recommending the settlement agreement for ratification by members.
“I want to thank the bargaining committee for their hard work and dedication in reaching this tentative agreement. Working as a team, they have done an amazing job for our members,” says Andrew Ledger, president of CUPE 1004.
The settlement agreement will be presented to CUPE 1004 members next week. No further details on the settlement will be made public until it is ratified by the Local’s membership. A ratification vote will be held electronically within the next few weeks.
“CUPE 1004 members have continued to maintain critical city infrastructure and provide the highest quality public services despite the many challenges our community has faced this past year and have helped this City weather an unprecedented public health crisis,” says Ledger. “I want to thank our members for their support during these negotiations, and their outstanding service to their community. Our solidarity and unity as a Local helped make this deal possible and will help our City in its recovery from this pandemic.”
