Come out and walk for community social services!

VICTORIA—This month’s annual community social services awareness events will culminate with B.C.’s biggest public event of the campaign, the walk for community social services, on March 26.

The walk, which begins and ends at Centennial Square in Victoria, is a fun-filled event featuring a barbeque and live entertainment aimed at raising awareness about the vital role that community social services play in our communities.

Everyone is welcome and there is no cost to participate. You can pre-register by emailing Michael Lanier of CUPE 1936, mlanier@telus.net. If you’re in Victoria that weekend, take public transit, walk, bike or have a friend drop you off.

Date: Saturday, March 26, 2011
Place: Centennial Square, Victoria
Start time: 11:00 am
Wrap up barbeque: 12 noon
Live Entertainment by the Tom Morrissey Band
