REVISED Rally to support striking Finning Workers has been CANCELLED

BURNABY- At noon this Thursday, members of Local 692 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will rally downtown to demand Finning (Canada) Ltd. return to the bargaining table, and the union would appreciate the attendance and support of affiliate members of the BC Federation of Labour at the event. CUPE members are encouraged to attend to support IAM members on the picketline.

The major issues in the dispute are subcontracting language, mandatory work on statutory holidays, the duration of the agreement and wages.

The rally will take place:

Time:     12:00 noon

Date:     Thursday, July 21, 2011

Place:    666 Burrard Street, Vancouver (across from Burrard Skytrain stop)
