Throne Speech a roadmap for continued progress—CUPE BC

BURNABY – The 2019 Throne Speech shows that B.C.’s NDP government has a solid plan to continue building on its impressive record of delivering on issues that matter to CUPE members across the province, CUPE BC President Paul Faoro said today.

“In just under a year-and-a-half in office Premier Horgan’s government has made real progress on reversing the damages of 16 years of BC Liberals,” said Faoro. “The government is tackling the serious issues that impact all working people, issues like affordability, child care and housing.

“Most impressively, the BC NDP government is showing that it’s possible to make significant new investments in public services while at the same time shifting to a fairer, more sustainable economy. I’m looking forward to next week’s provincial Budget to see more details on how the government will continue to take action on the priorities of working people rather than the wealthy and well-connected elites who supported the BC Liberals.”
