Bargaining continues for Community Social Services

Bargaining continues for Community Social Services

With some progress made at the bargaining table over the past several days, discussions between the Community Social Services Bargaining Association (CSSBA) and the CSS Employers Association continue and may go into the weekend.

The CSSBA bargaining team hopes to reach a fair and reasonable agreement, including a wage increase, and continues to resist the pattern of settlements in other public sector agreements. The multi-union bargaining committee remains focused on the issues that members have identified as priorities.

Members will be notified immediately once bargaining concludes.

BCGEU, CUPE, HEU, HSA and six other unions, which together make up the CSSBA, represent community social service workers in British Columbia. There are 15,000 unionized community social service workers, and two-thirds of them work in community living.
