BURNABY—CUPE members who are supporters of the BC New Democratic Party should make sure their memberships are up to date so they can vote for the Party’s next Leader, CUPE BC Secretary Treasurer Mark Hancock said today.
The NDP’s leadership election will be held on April 17, 2011 and is being held under a one-member, one-vote system. In order to cast a ballot, you must have been a member in good standing for at least 90 days. That means that if you are not currently a member, or are a lapsed member, you must join no later than January 17.
CUPE members interested in more information should go to the BC NDP’s website, which has a comprehensive FAQ section about the leadership process here and an on-line or downloadable membership application here.
