Just Film Festival: seeking higher moral ground

Just Film Festival: seeking higher moral ground

VANCOUVER—Refugees making their way from Syria to Sweden in black tie. A drag queen fighting against the rigid structures of a Catholic country. Communities resisting pipelines and mega-projects. These are just some of the stories featured in this year’s Just Film Festival (March 30 – April 1).

The Just Film Festival presents compelling documentary films about social justice and human rights, with themes ranging from the migrant crisis to the human toll of the actions of extractive industries in developing countries.

Jointly arranged by CoDevelopment Canada, Amnesty International Vancouver, Village Vancouver, and Vancity Theatre, with CUPE BC as a sponsor, this year’s festival presents 14 award-winning documentary films including three student films from Langara College.
