New agreement ratified for CUPE 2058 in the City of Langley

LANGLEY – CUPE 2058 and the City of Langley have ratified a new collective agreement.

Andrew Brown, president of CUPE 2058, said that it was a respectful round of bargaining, and that the new agreement will provide stability and certainty for the city and its employees.

Settlement highlights include improvements in seniority rights for temporary full-time employees and improvements to general leave and union security provisions. The four-year agreement includes the regional wage pattern for Metro Vancouver: 1.25% on January 1, 2012, 1.75% in January 2013 and January 2014, and 2% in January 2015.

CUPE represents approximately 170 workers in the City of Langley. Members provide a range of services for residents and businesses in the city.
