CUPE 825 ratifies four-year collective agreement

PORT MOODY—The City of Port Moody and members of CUPE 825, municipal and library workers, have ratified a four-year collective agreement. CUPE 825 ratified the agreement on Wednesday, January 9 and the City ratified on Tuesday, December 18.

“The collaborative relationship that has been developed between the union and employer in past years helped both parties reach a fair and equitable settlement for all stakeholders,” said CUPE 825 president Raman Braich.

The settlement includes wage increases of 1.75 percent, 1.25 percent, 1.75 percent and 2 percent in each of the four years and is retroactive to January 1, 2012.

CUPE 825 represents approximately 275 inside, outside and library workers who provide quality public services to their community including library services, road maintenance, water and wastewater operations, parks and recreation services, waste and recycling collection, bylaw enforcement and City Hall clerical support.
