Tentative agreement for PNE workers

Tentative agreement for PNE workers

VANCOUVER—Members of CUPE Local 1004 and the Pacific National Exhibition have reached a tentative collective agreement.  A ratification vote will be held in the coming weeks.

The CUPE 1004 bargaining team will be recommending acceptance of a three-year deal with wage increases of 1.5 per cent in each of the three years. The tentative agreement also includes improved contracting out and scheduling language.

CUPE employees at the PNE and Playland include ushers, ticket takers, security, bartenders, ice makers, carpenters, painters, gardeners, mechanics, plumbers, labourers, concession employees, ride technicians, ride operators, games operators, cleaners, administrative workers, parking employees and many others. They work in Playland, on the PNE site, at the Pacific Coliseum and in the other PNE buildings.
