Ten Percent Shift tour heading to the Kootenays

BURNABY—CUPE BC’s Ten Percent Shift campaign is heading to the Kootenays next week for a series of community meetings and presentations.

CUPE BC President Barry O’Neill will talk about the Ten Percent Shift and how it can help individual citizens improve their local economy. In most cases the presentations are sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce. O’Neill is available for advance interviews and at the events themselves.

Sunday, October 14, 2012 – Grand Forks                            

1 – 3 pm “Big Splash Event” Grand Forks Aquatic Centre

Monday, October 15, 2012 – Nelson

6:00 pm CUPE members presentation, Best Western Baker Street Inn

Tuesday, October 16, 2012 – Nelson/Creston                          

7:00 am Nelson Rotary Club breakfast presentation, Hume Hotel
Noon: Creston Chamber of Commerce luncheon presentation, Creston Ramada Inn
6:00 pm CUPE members presentation – Creston & District Community Complex

Wednesday, October 17, 2012 – Fernie/Cranbrook

Noon: Fernie Chamber of Commerce luncheon presentation, Park Place Lodge
7:00 pm – Cranbrook Public Meeting/Presentation – College of the Rockies

Thursday, October 18, 2012 – Invermere

Noon: Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Invermere Rotary Club luncheon presentation, Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce/Lions Hall.
