BURNABY – Longtime CUPE activist and CUPE 379 president Terry Allen is retiring after 33 years with the Burnaby School District. He was president of CUPE 379 for the past 15 of those years after serving as a shop steward and a first vice-president.
Always a champion of CUPE workers’ rights, Allen has been a driving force behind coordinated bargaining and most recently served as chair of the CUPE K-12 Presidents’ Council.
More than 100 family, friends and colleagues (and management) came to wish Terry Allen well at a sendoff held at Burnaby Central Secondary. Click here for photos from the event.
