BURNABY – CUPE BC president Barry O’Neill offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the 12 crew and passengers lost in the crash of First Air flight 6560 in Resolute, Nunavut.
“All of us at CUPE BC are deeply saddened by this tragedy,” said O’Neill, “our thoughts and prayers go out to the families at this time.”
In Ottawa, CUPE National President Paul Moist offered condolences on behalf of the over 600,000 members of CUPE across the country.
“This tragedy has touched us all deeply. I want the families to know CUPE members from coast-to-coast-to-coast are thinking of them during this difficult time,” said Moist.
CUPE represents First Air flight attendants, and lost two sisters in the crash. Another member of the crew is survived by his wife, a CUPE member.
