VANCOUVER—BC Citizens for Public Power is launching a province-wide tour of “PEOPLE POWER: Building Social Movements to Protect Public Power in Canada,” a new DVD on how to organize community coalitions to protect public electricity and fight the privatization of our rivers and BC Hydro.

The film premieres on Sunday, October 3 at SFU Harbour Centre at 6:00pm (Joseph & Rosalie Segal Centre, Rooms 1400-1420). The premiere opens with a wine and cheese reception, followed by presentations by ecologist/activist Rex Weyler and documentary film maker Damien Gillis. The 8:00pm screening will be followed by a Q&A session.

“The only force between us and the complete loss of our natural resources are the people themselves,” Rex Weyler, co-founder of Greenpeace, says in Part One of “PEOPLE POWER.” Weyler will be on hand at the premiere to discuss the film and take questions.
