Union Education

Getting involved with CUPE means learning new things ... about yourself, your union, your community.

One of the ways that CUPE supports our members and the work that we do on behalf of the Union is through our Union Education Program.

You can attend workshops during the week or weekend, during the day or in the evening.  Your Local can sponsor a workshop, your local area District Council can plan seminars or you can attend our Spring and Fall Weeklong Schools.  We also offer a limited homestudy program if you are not able to attend a workshop.

Education Calendars

CUPE Locals and District Councils sponsor training workshops for their members throughout the year.

If you want to attend a workshop, contact your Local Executive or Education Committee.

If you are a member and you are interested in a workshop but your Local isn't sponsoring it, contact your Local to find out if other members are interested and you might be able to get a workshop put on in your community or you might consider registering for a workshop being offered somewhere else in the province.

If your Local or District Council would like to sponsor a workshop for Spring 2010, please submit your request in writing on the CUPE Education Workshop Request Form.  Requests can be faxed (604-291-6248) or e-mailed (gburkitt@cupe.ca).

CUPE also sponsors weeklong training sessions in the Spring and Fall.  The next Weeklong School is in Naramata (May 2-7, 2010 and May 9-14, 2010).

Notices for workshops will be posted on the website when they are mailed out.  To register for a workskhop, please download the Notice and complete the Registration Form.
