Frank Lee elected DVP, wins disability award

DVP_Disabilities.jpegVICTORIA—CUPE 1004 Secretary-Treasurer Frank Lee is the inaugural recipient of CUPE BC’s Disability Award for outstanding activism on behalf of workers with disabilities.

Lee received the award on Friday afternoon (April 28), shortly after being elected the union’s first DVP for Workers with Disabilities. Elected as alternate DVP was CUPE 15 member Sunera Samarakoon.

In the remaining DVP elections, CUPE 728 member Debra Merrier was acclaimed as DVP and CUPE 1260 member Danica Hansen-Hughes elected alternate DVP for Indigenous Workers, while CUPE 15’s Michele Alexander and CUPE 379’s Drew Parris were re-acclaimed as DVP and alternate, respectively, for Workers of Colour.
