CUPE 2081 reaches tentative agreement with Camosun College

CUPE 2081 reaches tentative agreement with Camosun College

VICTORIA – CUPE 2081, representing Camosun College support staff, reached a tentative agreement last week after two and a half weeks of bargaining.

“Our bargaining committee worked hard to reach an agreement that will benefit members,” said CUPE 2081 President Tony Nelson. “I’d like to thank them for their dedication and strong efforts.”

The agreement follows the provincial mandate and addresses some issues around the pharmaceutical formulary.

Contract details will be released only after CUPE members have the opportunity to review them and vote to ratify the collective agreement. A ratification meeting has been set for Tuesday, June 23.

The collective agreement covers the period from July 1, 2014 and will be in effect until June 30, 2019.

CUPE 2081 represents approximately 600 support staff who provide maintenance, grounds, custodial, front line, clerical, secretarial, book store operations, library, instructional assistance, and administrative support, as well as cafeteria, trades, sports and recreation services at Camosun College.
