Tentative agreements in Comox and Courtenay

COURTENAY – CUPE Local 556 municipal workers and the City of Courtenay have reached a tentative collective agreement. The news came after a full day of negotiations Tuesday. The agreement must still be ratified by the 80 CUPE inside and outside workers and Courtenay City Council. Details will not be released until both sides have studied the tentative agreement.

The Local also reached a tentative agreement this week between its Comox municipal workers and the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD). The parties were in negotiations since December of 2010. That agreement must still be ratified by 70 members of CUPE 556 and the CVRD board.
