Happy Labour Day to the more than 100,000 CUPE members across British Columbia! This day is a time for us to come together, reflect on our achievements, and recognize the essential role that workers play in making our communities stronger, more equitable, and more resilient.
This past year has been a remarkable one for CUPE members in BC. Weโve witnessed significant victories that have strengthened our movement and improved the lives of countless families. From bargaining campaigns that secured fairer working conditions and higher wages, to successful organizing drives that brought more workers into the fold, to a province-wide campaign for seamless, public childcare, these achievements are a testament to the power of collective action.
But our work is far from over. The most crucial challenge ahead is the provincial election on October 19, which will shape the future of our province and the lives of working people. Itโs vital that we act together to secure the future we want. I urge every CUPE member to get involvedโvote, volunteer, and support candidates who stand for good jobs, strong public services, and a fairer BC. The actions we take and the choices we make at the ballot box this October will shape British Columbiaโs future.
On this Labour Day, letโs recommit to the principles of solidarity and collective action. Letโs use our voices, our votes, and our energy to make a difference in the upcoming election and beyond. Together, we can ensure that our communities are places where everyone can thrive.
