CUPE 1936 members ratify new agreement with Little Mountain Neighbourhood House

VANCOUVER—CUPE 1936 members working for Little Mountain Neighbourhood House Society (LMNHS) have ratified a new four-year collective agreement, signing off on a tentative deal reached two weeks ago.

The agreement, ratified on March 4, includes incremental wage increases similar to other settlements reached across the province. There is also a significant increase in access to paramedical services, and other language improvements such as personal emergency days and earlier access to increased vacation.

“Negotiations were respectful and beneficial to both the Union and the Employer,” said CUPE 1936 Secretary-Treasurer Bernice Way. “We are pleased with the gains we made on behalf of our members, and we look forward to further improvements in the future.”

CUPE 1936 has 33 members at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House. They work as special services counsellors/child care workers, in maintenance, and as reception/volunteer coordinator and settlement workers.
