CUPE 1936 members ratify new agreement with Little Mountain Neighbourhood House

VANCOUVERโ€”CUPE 1936 members working for Little Mountain Neighbourhood House Society (LMNHS) have ratified a new four-year collective agreement, signing off on a tentative deal reached two weeks ago.

The agreement, ratified on March 4, includes incremental wage increases similar to other settlements reached across the province. There is also a significant increase in access to paramedical services, and other language improvements such as personal emergency days and earlier access to increased vacation.

โ€œNegotiations were respectful and beneficial to both the Union and the Employer,โ€ said CUPE 1936 Secretary-Treasurer Bernice Way. โ€œWe are pleased with the gains we made on behalf of our members, and we look forward to further improvements in the future.โ€

CUPE 1936 has 33 members at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House. They work as special services counsellors/child care workers, in maintenance, and as reception/volunteer coordinator and settlement workers.
