CUPE 951 President calls for donations to United Way

CUPE 951 President calls for donations to United Way

VICTORIA—CUPE 951 President Kirk Mercer, is urging other union locals to consider donating to the United Way on December 3, Giving Tuesday. Mercer is the Labour Committee Chair and a Director of United Way.

He explains his reasons for donating in a video released yesterday.

Mercer donates to the United Way because he believes that no-one should have to work two to three jobs to support their family. He urges others to “show your local love” and donate.

“It’s important that the United Way and Labour continue to work together hand in hand to help those in need,” said Mercer

United Way has been assisting people in Greater Victoria for 82 years, funding a network of programs and services from Victoria to Sooke to Sidney and to the Southern Gulf Islands.
