Penticton community invited to virtual town hall on privatization

PENTICTON— Penticton residents are being invited to participate in the Okanagan’s first-ever virtual town hall meeting on Tuesday, February 22 at 7:30 PM. The town hall about privatization will hear from guests who will provide information and answer questions from the public. The virtual town hall meeting will provide the opportunity for Penticton residents to ask questions about the privatization of the Community Centre. Residents will be called at 7:30PM on Monday and invited to participate in this exciting telephone town hall event.

Guests are former Deputy Minister and CUPE researcher Blair Redlin, along with Laurie Larsen, concerned mother, Board of Education Trustee, and CUPE 402 president from Surrey. Larsen will share what happened when a private company took over operation of Surrey’s public swimming pool. The City ended up bringing the service back in house.
