2010 Communications Awards

VANCOUVER — CUPE BC’s Technology and Communications Committee had some tough choices to make choosing this year’s Communication Award winners. CUPE BC president Barry O’Neill lauded the initiative taken by this year’s contenders to keep the lines of communications open with their members and their communities.

In the Best Newsletter category for Locals with 500 or more members, the winner is CUPE 15, the Vancouver Municipal, Education & Community Workers, for The Members’ Voice. The winner for Best Newsletter for a local with 100-500 members is Camosun College’s CUPE 2081 for The Pressure Point.

The winner for Best Website from a Local with 500 or more members is CUPE 391, representing Vancouver, Gibsons and Sechelt Library Workers (www.cupe391.ca). The Best Website from a Local of 100-500 members is CUPE 1267 District of Mission Workers (www.cupe1267.com).
