Two UBC locals ready for bargaining

Two UBC locals ready for bargaining

VANCOUVER —Support workers in CUPE locals 116 and 2950 at the University of British Columbia have served notice for bargaining.

The two locals represent 3,600 workers in trades, custodial, food services, clerical, library, technicians, and support workers at the Chan centre. They join university support workers in other CUPE locals across the province whose contracts expire today (March 31). CUPE university workers’ locals are coordinating their independent bargaining efforts through CUPE’s Universities Coordinated Bargaining Committee.
