Cindy McQueen

Cindy McQueen is a General Vice President and a member of the Strong Communities Working Group, and is also the President of CUPE Local 389, which is a composite local covering schools, libraries, social services and municipalities in North Vancouver.  Cindy has been on her local executive since 1991 as custodial and maintenance rep, recording secretary, vice president and has been President since 1998. Cindy is also the Chair of CUPE BC’s Anti Contracting Out Committee and Community Social Services Committee.

Cindy comes from a strong union family and believes that through coordinated bargaining and political action we can achieve our goals to ensure the protection of workers’ health and safety and job security, and to stop privatization of public services.
