CUPE members rally to build a better B.C.

VANCOUVER—CUPE members turned out in big numbers Saturday afternoon in Vancouver, joining more than a thousand people from a wide range of organizations to draw attention to the damage the BC Liberal government is doing to B.C.

Emceed by well-known actor and blues musician Jim Byrnes, the “Build a Better BC” rally featured speakers and music. Speakers highlighted the serious impacts government cuts have had on services for the most vulnerable in B.C.

The rally was organized by the Coalition to Build a Better BC, comprised of more than two dozen groups ranging from organized labour and aboriginal people to seniors and students. All brought their energy and passion for positive change.

CUPE BC was proud to support the rally, and encourages all members to keep an eye on the Coalition’s website (www.betterbc.ca) for future events and campaign news.
