CUPE 4500 members ratify new contract with Coast Mountain Bus Company

BURNABY—CUPE 4500, representing 165 transit supervisors, maintenance supervisors, and transit communications supervisors and coordinators in the Lower Mainland, have ratified a new three-year collective agreement with the Coast Mountain Bus Company.

The new contract, which expires on December 31, 2018, includes a general wage increase established for all Translink subsidiaries and no concessions. Non-wage provisions include increases to paramedicals and a 1.3 per cent adjustment, beginning on January 1, 2018, for supervisors of skilled trades classifications.

“Although we weren’t able to achieve all the improvements we sought in this round, the bargaining committee firmly maintained our position of no concessions, and we are happy to report that all concessions were taken off the table,” said CUPE 4500 President Rob Woods.

The parties reached a tentative agreement at the bargaining table on December 8. Members ratified the agreement on December 12.
