Media contact information
During business hours, media representatives can reach the Communications department by calling the Regional office at 604.291.1940 and asking to speak with a Communications representative.
Depending on the kind of story you're working on, you'll likely want to speak with one rep in particular:
Clay Suddaby: For interviews with CUPE BC president Mark Hancock or CUPE BC Secretary – Treasurer Paul Faoro, questions about the CUPE BC website, CUPE BC's Public Employee magazine, CUPE BC's annual convention, or for stories about CUPE BC campaigns including the Ten Percent Shift, Water Watch and anti-privatization, as well as issues such as pensions.
Ian Boyko: For information or interviews on Education issues affecting the K-12, Colleges and Universities sectors, as well as for stories about Young Workers.
Kathryn Sutton: For information or interviews on Municipal issues, or for stories on Libraries, the Community Heath sector, the SPCA, occupational health and safety, the environment, women's issues and pay equity.
Carol Wood: For questions about Local 873 Ambulance Paramedics, Community Social Services, Childcare, Local 1767 BC Assessment Authority, Local 1816 Pacific Blue Cross, as well as stories about transportation, CUPE certified airlines, and the United Way, plus International Solidarity and Equality issues.
If you’re on a deadline, please let our switchboard know and they’ll have the person you want paged.
