CUPE BC has put together this material to help locals who want to do a City Watch program of their own.
CUPE has designed a special logo to identify the City Watch program province-wide and to link all the local activities into a larger effort by CUPE to get involved in programs that benefit communities.
By starting City Watch in your community, you join a campaign for safer communities that is linked to many other communities - and to your union. The City Watch logo is the symbol that brings it all together.
CUPE BC has designed 'letterhead' with the City Watch logo that you can personalize for your community and use for news releases, letters and copying City Watch manuals.
There is also a brochure, incorporating the logo, that with the addition of your community name and local can be reproduced for distribution.
City Watch can also be adjusted for your specific community. The logo can be redesigned to say 'Township Watch' or 'Village Watch' if that suits your community. The logo will still keep the features that distinguish it as the CUPE City Watch logo in order to maintain the consistency of the program, but it will be more appropriate for your community.
