CUMBERLAND, B.C. – CUPE and HEU members honoured the people who helped build the communities of Vancouver Island at the Miners’ Memorial celebrations June 22. They are pictured here at the Cumberland Cemetary behind labour martyr Ginger Goodwin’s headstone. “This celebration is a way to raise a few dollars to help the town keep the memory of the people that built it alive and meaningful,” said Paul Rideout, BCGEU Local 2002 chair.
